It is estimated that 1 in 5 children will grind their teeth: resulting in sleepless nights, damaged teeth and unwelcomed pain. At 1.6mm thin, the SOVA Junior Night Guard is powered by Diffusix Technology and scientifically designed to protect precious little smiles from a night of grinding. The non-compressible, perforated materials is designed to distribute pressure and allow the natural flow of air and saliva to protect growing jaws and teeth from the effects of teeth grinding, TMJ and Bruxism.
From Flat to Fit In Moments
Fitting a custom mouthguard has never been easier, our Flat2Fit process makes it possible. Didn't get the fit right the first time? Simply place the SOVA Junior back into hot water; it will return to its flat form. The SOVA guards are remouldable up to 20 times, so they can be remoulded as your child grows.

The SOVA Junior Night Guard is a child sized guard for ages 6-11. If your child is undergoing orthodontic treatment, you will need to ask your orthodontist to fit the SOVA Aero Night Guard (The SOVA Junior Night Guard is not compatible with braces).
What is Bruxism?
Night grinding, also called bruxism, is a condition in which a person grinds or clenches their teeth. Bruxism is one of the most common sleep disorders, with an average 20% of the American adult population suffering from the condition. Most people have a mild form of night grinding at some point in their lives.
If left untreated, bruxism can lead to:
- Headaches
- Neck pain
- Dental damage (wearing of the bite surfaces of the teeth)
- Jaw disorders (pain and limited movement)
- Significant joint pain or Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ)
SOVA Junior Night Guard
The SOVA Junior Night Guard is designed for kids aged 6-11. It is developed specifically for growing jaws and teeth, and distributes pressure caused by grinding to protect teeth at night. SOVA Junior Night Guard is remoldable, to create the best possible custom fit in a matter of minutes.
How can the SOVA night guard help?
Designed to withstand more impact than a conventional mouthguard, SOVA's scientifically engineered crumple zones prevent residual force of impact from traveling to your teeth. When a SOVA night guard is properly fitted, perforations oscillate on impact, dissipating grinding forces and guiding those forces into the crumple zones.
Diffusix Technology
Diffusix™ technology absorbs and diffuses the impact forces of grinding and cleanching throughout the entire guard.
Remoldable
Unique, ultra thin, thermoplastic polymer material is remoldable, up to 20 times, and biodegradable, BPA, Latex, PVC, Phthalate free.

Fitting Instructions
What you will need:
- Bowl, ceramic or glass
- Hot, but not boiling water (160° F/71° C)
- Fork or similar utensil
- Mirror
1. Wash your hands and the material with mild soap and water.
2. Heat enough water to submerge the dental guard to 160°F (71°C) (hot, but not boiling or scalding water) on the stove top or in a microwave oven. Immerse the dental guard until the material turns clear.Once it turns clear, it is soft and pliable and ready for fitting. Lift the guard with a fork.
3. Hold the soft material as shown in the picture. DO NOT LET IT FOLD!
4. Bite down gently on the solid front bar then press the tongue against the material to hold it in place.
5. Use a mirror. Mold it against the front of the teeth with your fingertips and up on the sides to the gum line to create the shield. Make sure most of the material is on the outside of the teeth. The material will not extend to the gum line.
6. Close the lips over the night guard and gently create suction until the material has hardened. This will ensure a snug fit within a minute or so. If you are not satisfied with the result just slip the night guard back in the water, let it soften and straighten out and then start over.
7. Unhappy with your fit? NO PROBLEM! Every SOVA Night Guard is remoldable up to 20 times. Simply place your formed SOVA Night Guard back in the hot water, let it soften and straighten out, and there you go! Time for Round 2.

About SOVA
Ours begins in the operating room, where Dr. Jan Akervall invented SOVA nightguards. Dr. Akervall struggled with the lacklustre, poor quality mouthguards that were provided to ENT surgeons in the operating rooms, so he set out to develop a guard that was thin, protective and durable enough to withstand impact with heavy endoscopic equipment.
Working with brilliant scientists and engineers, Dr. Akervall developed a guard that was both protective and comfortable. We did see a potential market, based on our customer demand and that's how we came about developing SOVA.

Difficult to get fit right
While the product looked good and in theory sounded easy enough, I found I couldn't mould it to my child's teeth properly, it was too difficult for her to coordinate creating the suction required to make a secure fit. I have a tried a few times without success so might leave it for now and try again in a couple of months.

Good product but difficult with a small mouth
Ordered this for my 6 year old who grinds nightly.
The product is great but was quite difficult to mould on my girl's mouth. She has a slight overbite and a small mouth so was very awkward to get the guard to fit to her teeth.
Probably with a bit more practice, I could improve the fit but it has put my girl off trying right now (Posted on )

Perfect solution
It is for my 6 yo son and it was not easy to make it fit in the beginning. We cut the both end of the guard so that he doesn’t gag. I guess it is a bit long for 6 year old kid. Since he used this guard, he has never grounded his teeth.
