NB: The Sangean Pillow Speaker is only suitable for devices that have stereo output. However, it is compatible if you buy our Mono to Stereo Jack Adaptor 3.5 mm.
Pillow Speaker Volume Levels
Pillow Speakers by design only have a limited volume range. This is so they don't disturb your partner sleeping next to you and due to the proximity to your ears when lying on your pillow. Note that when using a memory foam or latex pillow the density of the pillows will greatly reduce the volume of the pillow speaker.
We recommend using an amplified pillow speaker if using a latex or memory foam pillow. As everyone's hearing ability is different pillow speakers may not work well for all people.

Does the job
I have had tinnitus since my late 20s (now early 50s). My older pillow speaker was starting to get a bit unreliable so I ordered a PS300. The PS 300 is flatter than my old pillow speaker so easier to sleep on. I was worried about needing to constantly change batteries on the amplified speaker but without using the amplifier the speaker is plenty loud enough for my needs (running from a Sound Oasis, not a smart phone which may need to use the amplifier). The weight of the amplifier was initially an issue but the cord is light enough to have the amplifier which also has the volume control under the top corner of my pillow. Works well and does the job needed.

Occasional static flaws otherwise great product
This pillow speaker exceeded my expectations. I have a memory foam pillow and I can clearly hear it through my pillow. I bought it for nighttime meditations to help my sleep, and it is perfect for that use. Occasionally there are rare bursts of static, which can jolt you from your doze, but these are rare. Without these I would give this product five stars.

Overall a disappointing buy.
It looked like a great idea, I bought it for my husband who falls asleep listening to the radio, but the speaker moves all the time and the volume is just fair and if you turn over - forget it - overall a very disappointing buy.

Fantastic
I have tried other pillow speakers, but could never get enough volume. The Sangean Pillow Speaker is great with plenty of volume even through a thick pillow. I liked the fact that I can adjust the volume control easily with the built in amplifier. It fitted easily into the earphone jack on my clock radio. Best solution for listening to podcasts in bed without disturbing my wife. I used to use ear buds but ended tangled up or with sore ears. The pillow speaker is a great solution. Love it
I've used a pillow speaker for more than 10 years, but this is the first one with a volume control. I really like the flat surface which you can't feel at all under the pillow. The sound is excellent too. I'm a nurse/midwife and work all kinds of awful hours, so sleep poorly, but the pillow speaker has helped enormously; by concentrating on the programme, it removes the 'busy brain' and I fall asleep in no time.

If it wasn't for the fact that I went onto the Sangean website, I would never have known that such a thing like a pillow speaker existed so I bought it straight away and it has certainly met my expectations. A lot better than using earphones that kept falling out of my ears during the night. I particularly like the volume control and on/off feature and the cord is a decent length but best of all it doesn't disturb my partner which is what I wanted. He was quite amazed that he couldn't hear it at all. It really is a great product.

Pillow speaker
This is the second speaker I have purchased. I have had not had any problems with the speaker's. Several of my friend's have purchased the same speaker after trying mine. The built in amplifier helps to lift the volume and is a welcome feature. Overall it an excellent product.

Poor description
I bought this speaker to use with my Sangean clock radio but it wouldn't work but worked on my ipad. I returned it to Sleep Solutions who said there was nothing wrong with it. I then contacted Sangean only to find it is incompatible as the plug is stereo, and the Clock radio I have has mono output. There is no mention of stereo/mono on the description of the pillow speaker which might have avoided this situation. Check before you buy!!

I have tinnitus and I live in a fringe radio reception area, I have to have my radio on the floor for better reception so the cable on the sagean is a little short for me. I am also used to the Tandy speaker with the volume on the speaker so I find the volume control a little far away for me. If I had my radio closer I suppose the control would stay on the bed instead of dangling down the side of my bed.It is a very strong speaker and I am not using the amplifier (couldn't find a battery in my house).I am happy with the speaker and I will adjust to the difference.

Having purchased the Sangean I find that I am unable to use the product as the volume is not of a level which allows me to hear it even with the volume of my mp3 player on maximum.
A very disappointing product.

Great Product!
