Seatec SleepTight Anti Snoring Chin Strap
The Seatec Chin Strap is designed to provide jaw support for those with snoring problems associated with open mouth snoring. It is also designed for those using a sleep apnea CPAP nasal mask - it helps you breathe through your nose to prevent leakage and to make your therapy effective. It also helps avoid associated problems such as a dry mouth.
How it works:
Chin straps work to keep the mouth closed by supporting the jaw, this targets the cause of open mouth snorers and will aid in reducing snoring.
By holding the jaw in a fixed position the chin strap reduces the impact of soft tissue vibrating in the throat which is the cause of snoring.
It is important to have the chin strap create the right amount of tension to stop your jaw moving but also be comfortable. This is done by adjusting both the velcro straps to your head but ensure that it isn't too loose as it may not be effective in holding the jaw in place.
How to fit:
Hold the chin strap so that the black side is facing towards you, the velcro is separated with chin piece in the centre and the soft velcro straps in your right hand. The wide strap should be the closest to you
Place the chin piece in the centre against your chin and wrap the wide velcro strap around the back of the head just above the neck
Secure the velcro above the neck, then take the long, thin strap and secure it over the top of the head so that it places tension on your chin.
Adjust the velcro straps to ensure comfort while tension remains on your chin
Sizing:
Measure around the circumference of your head - around your chin to the crown of the head to determine head size.

Having had an Uvulectomy done a decade ago which greatly reduced my snoring, my snoring had returned in recent years(due in part to excess weight gain as well). Thought I would give it a go. Works a treat (according to my wife) and my snoring has been reduced to heavy breathing. The strap is also comfortable to wear and easy enough to adjust

I've had several similar disappointing products so I wasn't hopeful. It's easy to fit and stays in place all night. Once it's on, I hardly notice it. Happy.

The best chin strap I have purchased. Sleep Solutions has great customer service, prices and super fast delivery. Will definitely shop again. :)

I like these after having used several. In particular, I like the twofold adjustability. My only gripes are they are more expensive than other chin straps and have a tendency to stretch over time. Still, I get 6-12 months use per strap, so can't complain too much.

This did not work. Muffled the snoring to a deeper sound.
The sling kept my mouth closed, but snoring sounds were still very much there.
Found my throat hurt more.

I wore it for 2 nights and made absolutely no difference 2 my snoring. Very disappointed.

I've had one of these small size chinstraps for a few years and decided to order another. The width of the strap that supports the chin on the new one is 1.5 cm less than the one I already had. 7.5cm as against 9 cm. I find the larger width more comfortable. Also the strap that goes over the top of the head is 3 cm shorter on the new one.

Purchased chin strap to use with cpap machine, I was having problems with leakage with cpap machine, my husband was telling me I was still opening my mouth and making a terrible noise. Now with the use of the chin strap and cpap machine no more snoring, no dry mouth. Also tried chin strap without cpap machine, it works.

Significantly reduced my wifes snoring out her mouth, still some snoring but no longer wakes me up as I'm a light sleeper. Her complaint is that the material around the chin is scratchy so an internal lining would add comfort. Not sure how it will go in summer with hotter weather.

The chin strap is much more comfortable than a CPAP and works - no more dry mouth through the night, feel better in the morning. Only negative is that it is difficult to get the fit just right.

I use a cpap with a nasal pillow mask. Recently I began waking up with a really dry throat from breathing through my mouth. Using this has improved my sleep 100%. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night with a dry throat or with air bubbling out of my mouth. It is way more comfortable than I thought it would be and very good quality. And as I have a very small head very pleased that it came in a small size as a lot of things don't fit my head if they are one size.

I agree with many other reviewers, this product needs instructions. I felt that it was left up to me to work it out. I've been using the chin strap for about 10 days. I was almost ready to throw it in the drawer, when I started playing around with the straps and realised that the way you place the device on your head can make a lot of difference. I now make sure that my ears are towards the back section of the gap for your ears. This means that the top strap is more to the front of your head rather than near the crown. The back strap is about 3cm above the hairline (at the neck). This adjustment has meant that an uncomfortable and ineffective sleep (with some snoring) is now a comfortable sleep with (I think) no snoring. I will persist now.

This chin strap has helped tremendously. Plagued by health and memory issues from this due to sleeping with my mouth open, unsympathetic people would tell me I can't keep on doing this, as I was forgetting appointments etc. They thought I didn't want to go. It doesn't affect every one like this, I think just long standing sufferers. I felt the difference from the first night with the chin strap. I slept for 11 month's thinking I was getting some benefit from VPAP but my mask was still filling with dribble and I was still tired. I couldn't see anything lifechanging until I used this chin strap. And now I'm finally getting some energy, good health and vitality! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Hi,
I had many problems with full face CPAP masks being uncomfortable and leaking, so I tried a nasal pillow mask.
The only problem was I opened my mouth when sleeping which defeated the purpose of the CPAP treatment.
I tried several chin straps both budget and expensive, but they stretched within a week to the point they no longer held my mouth shut. This one however seems to be made of sterner stuff and after several weeks still feels the same as new. My apnea results are excellent and the leakage is usually under 3lm so I am happy with this chin strap.

The strap doesn't keep my mouth closed if the straps are kept slack enough to be comfortable. Tightening the straps still doesn't keep my mouth closed or stop my snoring, is uncomfortable, making it hard to sleep, and gives me a headache as well. Not worth the money.

... my wife, who bought it for me, says that it stops some of my snoring, but not the weird noises my mouth apparently makes during some of the night.

I have tried everything to get my sleep apnea under control ( not being able to use the masks ) the I came across the Seatec Chin Strap and the first night I got a full nights sleep and from then I have been sleeping a lot better. I haven't been waking up tired and I haven't been having a sleep during the day. The only fault I can find is that there is no fitting instructions with it.

I purchased this a week ago for my hubby. I have not slept a night in the last couple of months without ear plugs. The first night he used it, I didn't need my ear plugs and haven't used them since!! Whilst he still has a slight nasal snore it doesn't bother me. I've just purchased a second one for my dad to try. Might not work for everyone, but definitely worth a try. Money well spent in my case!!! Thanks

Seems to work for a while only because it kept him awake then he managed to snore thru his mouth even though it was tight will keep trying it gives me time to get to sleep.

If you snore simply because your mouth flops open this works however if y have nasal or throat related issues that cause y to snore this may make no difference

The chin strap provides comfort without adding pressure to back of the neck or temples.
For me this is great as I suffer from migraines. So now I have sweet dreams and no pain.

I have been using a Seatec chin and mouth strap, and the chin strap with a VPAP machine for about 18 months. I prefer the chin and mouth strap as I need a fair amount of pressure to keep my mouth closed because of the pressures involved with my VPAP machine. The mouth strap (wider than the chin strap) stops air from escaping and making the VPAP machine less effective. The Seatecs are the best for me because they are adjustable and long wearing. I have experimented with the ' cheapies' out of interest and they do not rate in comparison. One must be patient to find the best tensions, but once they have been found a good night's sleep should follow consistently.

I used it for several nights but my wife tells me it didn't work.

This chin strap works well. My wife said that my snoring almost stopped. You can't breathe through your mouth when wearing it and so you need to have a clear nose - as I found out when I got a mild cold. Apart from that - it's good.

The strap doesn't stop all snoring but it seems to keep the snoring down to a lower noise and limit it, enabling me and my husband to still sleep so overall, the product is effective.

My wife reports that my snoring has reduced markedly and is happy. I used to wake up several times through the night with a dry mouth needing a drink of water. With the chin strap I don't have that problem any more. It's a quick and easy fix and didn't take long to get used to at all.

Have used the chin strap for one week to date. I am sleeping better, although it is difficult to get the right tension to work effectively. It could be improved it it were accompanied by fitting instructions as I fitted it on the wrong way for the first few days.
